Monte L. McNamee, CPA

Monte graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1984 and received his certificate as a certified public accountant in 1988 and holds an active permit to practice in Wyoming.  He merged his practice into Porter, Muirhead, Cornia & Howard in August of 1997. 

Monte has extensive experience in financial and compliance audits of local governmental entities and not-for-profit agencies with an emphasis in employee compensation and benefit issues.  He has recently transferred his area of emphasis to the income tax area, specializing in small business, employment issues and large individual tax issues. 

 Monte is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Wyoming Society of CPA's, served on the Board of Directors as past president of the Wyoming Society of CPA's.  Monte is a past chairman of the Governmental Accounting and Auditing and its Regulatory and Legislative Committee's and the AICPA's State Society Leadership Training Task Force.  He has been a discussion leader and instructor for the GFOA's Basic and Intermediate Governmental Accounting Courses along with several courses for the Wyoming Society of CPA's for clerk and treasurers of special districts and school finance.
