James A. Porter, CPA

Jim is President of Porter, Muirhead, Cornia & Howard, a Casper CPA firm which employs approximately 38 employees.  He has committed 36 years to his public accounting professional and provides financial consulting in assisting a wide variety of businesses in the Casper area.  Jim is 1965 graduate of Natrona County High School, a graduate of Casper College and a 1970 Honors graduate from the University of Wyoming. 

 Jim's extensive experience in both the tax and financial consulting departments within our firm provide him the opportunity to consult with clientele in the medical and professional fields, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, oil field service companies, and a variety of other industries.  Jim has utilized this experience to assist his clients with business planning, management consulting, estate planning, retirement planning, and other financial services.  He has provided litigation support services and served as an expert witness on numerous occasions.  He holds CPA certificates in both Wyoming and Colorado.

While serving as the Chairman and an active  member of the CAEDA Board of Directors, Jim has attended numerous meetings representing CAEDA during the past five years while on the Board.  He provides his financial knowledge to the CAEDA Board by serving on the Forward Casper and prospective project committees.  Jim is a current member of the Steering committee of the Wyoming Business Alliance and a member of Rotary.  He is a past president the Casper County Club, Wyoming Society of CPA's, and Central Wyoming Chapter of CPA's.  He is a past board member of the  Casper Chamber of Commerce.  He has volunteered extensive time during his career serving on numerous community boards.  Jim's continuing goal as a CAEDA Board member is "to create career opportunities in Casper four our children and grandchildren to allow them to have the ability to make the Casper area their home."
