Dennis R. Howard, CPA,  CVA

Dennis R. Howard graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1970. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant with an active permit to practice in the state of Wyoming. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Wyoming and Colorado Societies of CPA's, Central Wyoming Chapter of CPA's, a member of the management consultant committee for the AICPA and is currently a member of Technology Committee of the Wyoming Society of CPA's.  He is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and has received this designation from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Taxation Experience

       Dennis has experience in Individual, Partnership, Corporate, Estate and other areas of tax preparation and related tax planning.  He has experience in tax free exchanges [Section 1031] and related re-organizations.  Dennis has had experience with gas and oil retailers, trucking and aviation companies, construction companies, and numerous other small businesses in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Computer Networks

Dennis has worked with computers for over 17 years and has extensive knowledge of the software and hardware to run a successful CPA firm and similar needs of clients of the firm. He has experience in the planning stages of setting up both local area networks (LAN's) and wide area networks (WAN's). Dennis has used and implemented PC computers in a business environment. He has been a consultant on engagements involving the interface of mainframe and mini-computers and the related software search for compatible programs.

Business Appraisals

Mr. Howard has performed the following types of business valuation assignments: gift tax appraisals, estate tax appraisals, business and stock valuations, litigation support appraisals, intangible asset appraisals, marital dissolution appraisals, and appraisal review.

Mr. Howard has performed business and stock appraisals in the following industries: accounting, aviation, construction and contracting, distribution, fast food, gas stations, oil and gas equipment rental, real estate holding companies, retail grocery stores, medical and dental practice, printing, restaurant and retailing.

Previous Experience   Mr. Howard began business valuations in the early 1980s. He has prepared formal reports since 1985 and has been used to review business valuations since 1990. All business valuation experience has been with small businesses in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Appraisal Education  He has attended business appraisal courses and has had training each year since 1982 from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Denver University, the Illinois society of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Business Appraisers, Inc. or the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
